Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga

Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a new to yoga, Evelyn Steeb can guide you through mindful and safe yoga classes during this exciting, and sometimes challenging, time of your life. A regular yoga practice is not only healthy for the body, but also for stress levels during pregnancy. Hormones, blood pressure and the responsibilities of an expecting baby can leave a mother-to-be feeling exhausted. Through a combination of active and restorative yoga poses and calming breathwork, you can experience relaxation and feel confident in your body - during pregnancy and after childbirth.

Prenatal Yoga Classes

Practicing yoga during pregnancy can be extremely beneficial for women. It can help improve posture and decrease common discomforts like swelling, backache, fatigue and sleep problems. It can help a woman trust her instincts during pregnancy and be more aware and in touch with what she needs on a day to day basis. You will learn to appreciate a gentler and more introspective yoga practice – while still building strength and flexibility. Learning to modify yoga poses and how to use yoga props can help you to practice safely during exercise. Studies have also shown that prenatal yoga can improve the labor and childbirth experience, through a healthier body and mind.

Postnatal Yoga Classes

Postnatal yoga is not only an excellent way to lose extra pregnancy weight and tone up, but also helps you exercise carefully so that the body can properly complete the healing process it is going through. It’s important during postnatal exercises to know what stomach strengthening exercises are good for the body, for example, and which ones are not. However postnatal yoga is not just about getting in shape, it can aid with postpartum depression and help with stress reduction. Being a mother to a new child causes many lifestyle changes that a woman needs to adjust to. It is also important to make time for yourself and your needs in your new and busy lifestyle. An hour or two of yoga a week is a healthy and much-needed routine that many women find extremely beneficial.

Evelyn Steeb looks forward to guiding and nurturing you on your pre and postnatal yoga practice, as you embark on your journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
